Angry Orchard

Angry Orchard Cider Co. is a subsidary of Boston Beer Co. (The makers of Samual Adams beer) based in Cincinnati, OH. The company launched Angry Orchard in 2011. Since then, Angry Orchard has taken over a large part of the hard cider market.

 

In the United States, cider sales only take up about one percent of the beer market. However, the cider market continues to grow as beer companies experiment to create more and more flavors for alcoholic beverages. Particularily in the gluten free genre.

 

The beer market is a unique place to create a brand. The envirornment created around bars, drinking, and alcohol is a special community. Costumer loyality to and association with certain brands is huge. Angry Orchard does an excellent job of creating a certain spunky personallity associated with its ciders. With its great success in the market it seems that Angry Orchard has found its niche among consumers in the small market of hard ciders.
